AMATEUR SKATEBOARDING CONTEST COMING TO LOS ANGELES AGAIN

19-year-old contest series Damn Am brings its influential event to L.A. The contest now includes a women’s skate category, a first for the event.

Los Angeles, CA, May 2019— In the world of professional skateboarding, mega stars with huge influence like Paul Rodriguez, Nyjah Huston & Shane O’Neill usually come to mind. But for many skaters and fans, the path to becoming a pro is where the real action is. This year, the Damn Am global amateur skateboarding contest series, now in its 19th year, makes its annual stop in LA on May 17th –19th at the Berrics, the world renowned private indoor facility on East 12th St. In addition to the exciting action spectators and participants have grown to anticipate from Damn Am, a women’s category has been added this year. The recent rise of women in the skate culture has been well documented in pop culture by films such as Skate Kitchen starring Jaden Smith, and will be pushed even further by women's skateboarding’s inclusion in the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. Come to Damn Am LA and be a part of this growing movement!
