The Olvera Street merchant families play out the journey of Las Posadas during the nine nights of Advent, with candlelit processions of Mary and Joseph, children, adults and animals. Singing hymns and holiday songs, they stop at individual stores to ask for shelter. Each time they are turned away, until the doors of their final stop are swung open and the pilgrims are allowed to enter. Pan dulce and hot chocolate are brought out to feast upon, piƱatas are broken, and the music continues.

Suprasensorial: Experiments in Light, Color & Space
