For his first concerts with the LA Phil in Walt Disney Concert Hall, Simon Rattle returns with 100+ years of richly expressive Central European masterpieces. Acclaimed mezzo Magdalena Kozˇená – Rattle’s wife – sings Mahler’s gently profound settings of Friedrich Rückert’s Romantic poetry, also admired by Schubert, Schumann, Brahms and Berg, among many other German composers.
