Business Management Academy by the National Latina Business Women Association
NATIONAL LATINA BUSINESS WOMEN ASSOCIATION “BUSINESS MANAGEMENT ACADEMY” ENCOURAGES LATINA ENTREPRENEURS TO THINK BIG AND GROW BEYOND MICRO STAGE
The Academy will present experts and proven strategies for business growth and development.
Los Angeles, Ca. (February 22, 2012) – More than 788,000 Latinas own businesses in the United States, according to a 2011 Survey of Business Owners (SBO). To address their growing need for business development and growth, the National Latina Business Women Association (NLBWA) – LA Chapter, will host its “Third Annual 6-Week Business Management Academy: Growing Your Business” on Wednesdays, beginning February 22, 2012 through April 4, 2012 from 6-9 p.m. The Academy, hosted by Entrepreneurial Expert and Public Speaker Michele Ruiz, can be can be viewed via a Live Webcast, or in-person at the Metropolitan Water District (700 N. Alameda Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012). Free parking is available in the employee parking structure.
The workshops – aimed at supporting women business owners who have been in business for more than three years – will encourage participating entrepreneurs to “Think Big” when it comes to their business. “So many women, Latinas too, but women in general, think micro – think small,” said Michele Ruiz, speaker and facilitator for the NLBWA-LA Business Management Academy. “This business academy is about starting to get women to think about their businesses in a much larger capacity. They will learn that it takes just as much time and effort to grow a million dollar business as it does a $100,000 business,” added Ruiz.
This year’s focus “Strategically Growing Your Company,” will provide a series of workshops presented by business experts, advisors, coaches, and more who will share essential information and proven strategies that will enable owners to grow their businesses beyond the micro-enterprise phase. “This academy is for business owners who have been in business for a while,” said Ana Perez, NLBWA-LA President. “We are committed to help women acquire new tools and knowledge to accomplish their business and professional goals. These workshops are part of our signature programs, which not only provide this kind of value to our members, but help make us a unique organization,” added Perez.
The cost of attending the 6-Week Business Management Academy Series is $395 for current members and $495 for non-members. Participants who join NLBWA-LA pay a special rate of $450. Three qualified participants will win a $500 grant.
