Chamber Music in Historic Sites: Voces Intimae
Its name reflecting the ensemble’s aim to emphasize the more subtle aspects of the piano trio repertoire, “Voces Intimae brings back to this music all of its poetry and transparency…” (Le Monde de la Musique). Performing on period instruments – including a restored 1827 fortepiano – in the romantic elegance of the Pompeian Room, this brilliant piano trio brings “a performance of inspired clarity and subtle expression, characterized by a transparent interpretation and flawless intonation…” (The Strad) to beloved trios of Mendelssohn (in d, Op. 49) and Schubert (in E-flat, Op. 100, D. 929) along with Hummel’s Trio in F, Op. 22 .
