Under African Skies
In 1987, Paul Simon decided to collaborate with Ladysmith Black Mambazo (who last appeared our stage in 2005) and others. Together, they fused American pop with deeply traditional African roots, and created a new world music sound under the heat of intense scrutiny and political outrage. Under African Skies, Joe Berlinger’s documentary, a 2012 Sundance selection, chronicles the creation and lasting influence of Simon's groundbreaking Graceland on its 25th anniversary.
