Green Umbrella: de Leeuw conducts Andriessen
The leading European minimalist, Dutch composer Louis Andriessen wrote his music theater piece Anaïs Nin for the astonishing Cristina Zavalloni, who sings it here. The texts tell of Nin’s restless love affairs with her father (composer/pianist Joaquín Nin), Henry Miller, and others, while the music closely tracks the irony, despair and passion of this many-sided and brilliant woman.
