African American Heritage Celebration 2012 “Stepping Back Into The Future” to honor contributions and traditions of African Americans, celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Pan African Film Festival and the work of “Our Authors Study Club.”
Also honored: Spirit of Los Angeles Awardee – award-winning actress Sheryl Lee Ralph, the original DREAMGIRL Dream of Los Angeles Awardee – critically acclaimed and award-winning New York Times-bestselling author Walter Mosley Hope of Los Angeles Awardee – internationally renowned neurosurgeon and scientist,and head of the Department of Neurosurgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Dr. Keith Black The event featuring free food, music and entertainment is FREE and open to the public.
